The SPARK Sensory Clinic will evaluate your toddler in order to highlight their strengths but also hear about your concerns. We will focus on assessing your child's sensory processing and ability to engage with others and their environment. Signs of sensory challenges in toddlers can include difficulty with sleeping, becoming upset by certain movements, having difficulty with engagement, not liking being held, and having trouble calming down. Working with the parents to help empower them, treatment can include play that uses a number of positions and an increase in exposure to a variety of sensory experiences. Parents play a key role as a play partner in helping their child to achieve their goals. Parents and the occupational therapist will collaborate to set all goals for treatment. "Homework" will be given to parents between sessions to help increase effectiveness of sessions.
